Description: This is a tourist project handled by the community that was created in 2002. It is administrated by the Maya K´iché Farm and Craft Development Association: La Guadalupana. This association promotes conservation and sustainable use of the forest located in the Mountain Forest biome, as well as conservation and observation of birds. With an area of 99 acres, 70% is used for sustainable development (forest production, reforestation and agricultural purposes) and the rest is maintained as a reserve area for conservation.

Services: Training center, internet service, plant nursery, restrooms, cabins (with stove and water), restaurant and bar.

Access: From Guatemala City, take the Highway to Sololá (CA-1). When you reach Aldea El Novillero (Km145) in the Municipality of Santa Lucía Utatlán, there will be a sign on your left where you turn to get to the Park.

Tourist facilities: Trails and bridges inside the forest for birdwatching.

Fees and schedule: $1 adults, 50 cents for children. If you want to get a specialized guide for birdwatching the fee is $12 for groups of a maximum of ten persons. It is open daily, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm (prior reservation necessary).

Other features: Ask for the vapor sauna known as Temascales; there are recreational and sport areas and craft sales. This reserve is close to Lake Atitlán, San Pedro La Laguna, San Juan La Laguna and Totonicapán.
